  • ayurvedic health tips
Ayurveda translates to “ayuh” meaning life and “vedah” meaning knowledge. Therefore Ayurveda is a dated repository of valuable lessons and hacks: a vital powerhouse of healing energies and secrets that can transform your physical being. People are gradually understanding the consequences of going overboard with modern medicine and looking towards Ayurveda for safe alternatives. This ancient Science of healing and learning has some preliminary hacks for you to start using now. These tips are more of the identifying stage, which means that implementing these pointers in your life will open doors to wisdom and a clear understanding of what is going wrong with your body. The following Ayurvedic health tips are a good start to a healthy regimen.

    7 AYURVEDIC HEALTH TIPS

    1. ADAPTOGENS

Hormonal imbalances in the body can cause a variety of symptoms. These often include menstrual problems, facial hair, skin issues, and infertility problems. Ayurveda suggests using Adaptogens or herbs that improves ovulation cycle, and benefits the immunity system. Adaptogens or Adaptogenic herbs are natural substances, mainly plant derived, that aid the stress response system in the body. Some of the herbs categorized under this genre are Tulsi or Basil Leaves, Rose Petals, AshwagandhaMulethi or Licorice Root, Ghritkumari or Aloe Vera, to name a few. These herbs help to nourish the stress management systems in your body, while regulating cortisol production.
Note: Avoid Ashwagandha in pregnancy or if you are taking blood pressure medications.

    2. FOOD COMBINATIONS

If you are someone who dips their French Fries in milkshakes, stop. According to Ayurveda, the 4 major taste types – sweet, salty, sour, and bitter are supposed to be consumed in a decided manner. Unlike modern eating patterns, Ayurveda discourages the consumption of foods that have dissimilar latent heat or Taseer. In the language of this ancient science, this is also known as Viruddh Ahara.  According to a study, a diet with wrong food combinations can interrupt the metabolism of tissue, which as a result can inhibit the tissue formation protocol. An incompatible diet might include:
    • Milk with or after meat
    • Honey with ghee
    • Yogurt with fruits or nightshades

    3. FOOD CONSUMPTION & STORAGE

According to Ayurveda principles eating meals immediately, or within 15 minutes post-preparation, optimizes nutrient absorption. Stale food, or cooked meals that stays in the refrigerator for more than a day or two, loses its sheen as well as its nutrient profile. The best antidote is to prepare food according to the need and number of members in your family. Remember, great efforts bear great results and it will show up as a fit body and a glowing skin.

    4. MEAL TIMINGS

Your digestive health sets the stage either for your overall well-being. According to Ayurveda thought, we benefit by consuming our dinner by 7 PM. This is because the digestion or the “agni” is at its peak during these hours. In other words, the digestive juices flow freely during “working” hours. Moreover, the production and flow of these juices depreciate towards the end of the day. Therefore it’s important to eat meals by 7 PM in order to optimize digestion and nutrient absorption.

    5. SOCIAL ANXIETY SYMPTOMS

Yogis often cover great distances to learn Ayurvedic health tips during a retreat or a training course. This is because a number of medical issues can be improved with the help of Ayurveda. Take Social Anxiety for example: social media narratives, body image issues, and the desire to be accepted can all cause social anxiety. People who suffer from this symptom often stop going out in the world, experience mood swings, and may even think suicidal thoughts.
study indicates that taking care of the gut microbiome, and the enteric nervous system, is important for these anxiety patients and people in general. The gut is considered our “second brain” and many scientific studies have been done to explain the complex gut-brain axis. Herbs like Basil Leaves or Tulsi, probiotics like Pickles, and intake of Dairy (avoid if you are lactose intolerant and go for fermented beverages like kefir) can help your gut in many ways.

    6. SKIN HEALTH

According to the ancient science, there should be a balance of exercise, herbs, and proper diet in your lifestyle. For instance, foods that cause an increase in Kapha Dosha like junk food, extra spicy snacks, and meat products causes a spike in both insulin and mucous. This can lead to a number of skin issues including acne, rosacea, and hair loss.
Combat problem skin with natural ingredients like Sandalwood or Chandan, and Neem. These  herbs have antimicrobial and antibacterial properties. Studies also show the benefit of Emblica officinalis or Amla. Try juicing it, applying it topically, or eating it to help improve your skin.

    7. INSOMNIA

The fast-paced modern lifestyle has helped us earn more money, but at the cost of our health and sleep. Getting 8 hours of sleep each night improves mental health, boosts your productivity, strengthens reproductive health, and reduces skin concerns. The human body repairs itself while it sleeps, therefore, it is important to prioritize healthy sleep patterns. Ayurveda has some helpful tips to improve your sleep.
    • Tweak your schedule so that you get up between 5-6 am.
    • Eat lunch by noon.
    • For all Doshas (Kapha, Pitta, and Vata), be in bed by 10 pm.
    • Consume milk with turmeric and honey before bedtime.
    • Don’t over-indulge at the dinner table, which means no caffeine or vodka.
These Ayurvedic health tips are well-supported by Science and beneficial in all walks of life. Ayurveda has the power to not only transform your health, but also your entire life.

Cancer & Alzheimer's May Be Prevented  America's top killers are heart disease, obesity, cancer and Alzheimer's disease. Want to know something interesting? All of these diseases are associated with insulin and leptin resistance. To put it more simply: There is an underlying problem that results from eating large amounts of carbs and / or protein. Processed foods and grains, which Americans consume as they go out of style, are loaded with sugar. Eating all these sugars builds up leptin and insulin resistance in the body and it keeps the body fat. Additionally, this resistance can cause inflammation and cellular damage. How can you fix this? It may be time for nutrients to enter your body. This means your body starts burning fat instead of glucose (sugar). As more research has revealed, studies indicate that a ketogenic diet may be the answer to many health problems, including cancer, heart disease, obesity, diabetes and Alzheimer's. T...

Why do so many older people limp? By Dr.Firoz Ali Biswas

Why is limping so common, especially in the elderly? Dirschl : There are four basic reasons why people develop a limp. Something is painful, stiff or weak—or one leg is substantially different. That last option is responsible for only a small percentage of limps, so I will focus on the first three. Any one of these, or any combination, could cause someone to limp. Let’s begin with pain. In younger people the primary cause is physical trauma, such as sports injuries or motor vehicle accidents. The most common cause of pain in older people, however, is arthritis, which causes pain as well as stiffness. If someone already has a limp, inflammation makes it even more pronounced. Pain can affect any of the limping-related joints: hip, knee, ankle or foot. Discomfort in any of those locations is common and is likely to be experienced by more and more people as they age. Each specific location causes a slightly different kind of limp. Diagnosing the cause of a limp is ba...
