Life expectancy has been declining around the world for the past few years. However, in some areas known as the Blue Zone, people enjoy a much longer lifespan. In this article, we are going to talk about the longevity path and habits of the inhabitants of the blue regions. The idea is that the kind of lifestyle they follow to increase longevity. Let’s get to the point.

The path to longevity

Moderate wine consumption

In the  Blue  Zone, some residents enjoy one to two glasses of red wine per day. Since red wine contains antioxidants, it can prevent DNA damage. So, these are more reasons for these people to enjoy longevity.

According to research, moderate alcohol consumption helps prevent oxidative stress that can adversely affect serotonin activity.

These people take naps during the day and get enough sleep at night.

The people of these regions live purposeful lives. Most people over the age of 90 still work and take care of their grandchildren.

Most of the people in this region are social. They keep in touch with their friends and neighbors in their social interactions are positive, which encourages them to stick to good habits. These help them to live longer.
